My Trip through Serbia

I have been to Serbia once. This was in 2018, near the end of my 777-day trip around the world. I arrived from North Macedonia and traveled through Serbia to Hungary, stopping in Niš and Belgrade along the way.

Even though Serbia is not a massive land area, I was surprised by the time it took to travel from one end of the country to the other. However, I believe that the long travel times yet accessible geography make Serbia great for random exploring of smaller towns, encouraging visitors to make stops along the way.

The photo at the top is from my stay in Niš. While there, I stayed with a Couchsurfing host who happened to be a fan of the Finnish language, having learned to speak it all by himself!

About a Sustainable Travel Page

From blindfolded maps to real journeys, I’ve long used randomness to guide my travels. This Serbian city generator is just one part of a growing list of tools for travel inspiration and decision-making on this site. I’ve also created random city generators for some of Serbia’s neighboring countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, and Romania) and over 20 other countries in Europe.
