My Visits to Poland
My first visit to Poland was not planned well in advance. It was my first solo trip, and I was staying with a friend in Munich. I had to wait a few days for my salary to arrive and I was short on money, so I decided to go somewhere cheaper before my money ran out. I traveled to Krakow by train overnight and visited Auschwitz.
Later, I also traveled through Poland during the first month of my 2-year trip around the world. I made friends with my Couchsurfing hosts in Wrocław and stayed with them again once I got back to Europe. A few years later, they came to visit me in Finland in return.
As many Polish probably know, the photo at the top is of one of the dwarf statues of Wrocław.

My journey to Nairobi, Kenya—chosen at random—was the start of something much bigger. This Polish city generator is one of the many tools I’ve built to share the joy of discovery through randomness. I’ve also made city generators for all but one of Poland’s neighbors: Belarus, Czechia, Germany, Slovakia, and Ukraine, and over 20 other European countries
(Sorry Lithuania, you’re still one of my favorite destinations!)
