As a Finn myself, I find it interesting that Minnesota has the largest Finnish-American community, and I’ve also met a few Americans from Minnesota who have a Finnish background.
I shared breakfast with one of them on the Lake Shore Limited train in 2025. He told me that when his distant relatives from Finland came to visit, they exclaimed that it was “just like home.” Considering the similar nature and culture, I’m not surprised.
