Indiana, with a population of around 7 million, is located in the Midwest. The state has a mix of industrial cities and small towns. This generator randomly picks a city or town in Indiana.

Random City in Indiana

I have used Wikipedia’s list of Indiana municipalities as my source for this city randomizer. Under Indiana law, municipalities with a minimum of 2,000 people can be incorporated as cities.

However, the populations of some cities have dropped below 2,000, while some towns have over 2,000 residents but no city status. As a compromise, I decided to include all cities and towns with over 2,000 residents, no matter their status.

This generator contains 213 different destinations. Click the button to get your random place in Indiana! (It may take a few moments to process on mobile devices.)

Arimo Travels doesn’t stop with this generator—I’ve also developed ones for each US state. That includes surrounding states such as Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio. You can view the full list on the Random Generators page.

This website, Arimo Travels, started as a travel blog during my two-year journey around the world. Over time, I expanded my focus to include topics like flightless travel and random generators. Learn more about the site here.

While many of my generators are travel-related, some go beyond that. For instance, I’ve built generators for picking a random movie to watch and for suggesting random activities.

I have been to Indiana once, though the occasion barely counts as a visit. During my second trip around the world in 2025, I traveled through the United States by train. After leaving Chicago late in the evening, our Amtrak Train—Lakeshore Limited—crossed from Illinois to Indiana.

Soon after the border, I saw the massive Horseshoe Hammond casino. Afterwards, I was amazed to learn that the casino is technically a riverboat.
