This randomizer picks a random city in England. The generator includes all 55 official cities of England (plus London).

This random generator selects random cities in England. If you want to find cities in the whole of the United Kingdom, use my Random City in the United Kingdom generator. You can find dozens of other randomizers on the Random Generators page.

The generator is based on the most recent list of English cities. The list includes three towns that were recognized as cities in 2022 to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

This generator only includes places with the official status of a city. I made an exception with London, though. London is not officially a city. Instead, it is a collection of places that includes two smaller cities (the City of London and the City of Westminster) as well as other locations.

St Ives is not a city, though. In the poll, the best city to live in England was Worcester in West England. Overall, Worcester placed on the 15th spot of best places to live in Great Britain.

I’m assuming that most of you are actually looking for cities in all of the United Kingdom. To solve the issue, I created random destination pickers for both regions.
