Gotta catch ’em all! This random Pokémon generator includes all 1,025 Pokémon from all nine generations, with settings to filter the selection.
New Pokémon appear every few years, making older random Pokémon generators outdated. This Pokémon randomizer is currently up to date and includes all Pokémon released between 1996 and 2025.

The randomizer includes settings to narrow down the selection by generation. By default, Pokémon from all generations are included, but you can also focus on specific groups—like the original 151 Pokémon from the first generation.

My History with Pokémon
I’m a 1990s kid, and I’m also an old-school Pokémon fan. I remember seeing one of the first games on a family friend’s black-and-white Game Boy, and I was in first grade when the TV series started airing in Finland.
Like many others, I was obsessed with the Pokémon Trading Card Game. But unlike most people I know, my brothers and I actually played the TCG. I had a Fire deck, and if I hadn’t sold my collection, my holographic Charizard would still be quite valuable—though at least it wasn’t a first edition!

Arimo Travels is a website about sustainable travel. Why is there a random Pokemon generator on a travel site?
In 2016, I picked a completely random place anywhere in the world. After one very long detour, I finally arrived at my random destination—Nairobi, Kenya—in March 2018. While still in Africa, I decided to create a few random destination generators for others to enjoy as well.
In the years since, those few generators have turned into over 100 randomizers covering all sorts of topics. For example, I’ve made generators for random emojis and random kanjis. You can find all the randomizers on the Random Generators page.
