This random Chinese city generator includes all 694 cities in China.
How many Chinese cities can you name? Places like Beijing and Shanghai are known all over the world, but China has an astounding 113 cities with over a million residents. And even those cities house only a fraction of the country’s population.
这个随机城市生成器会随机选出中国的一个城市。它包括中国所有的地级城市,但不包括县级市。结果还会显示每个随机城市的人口和位置。

Traveling in Chinese Cities
I have personally visited mainland China once. This was in 2015, when my friend and I traveled from Finland all the way to North Korea by train. The Trans-Mongolian Railway took us to Beijing, where we spent a few days.
After Beijing, we hopped on another train to Dandong, a less-visited border city just before North Korea. Dandong also had its own section of the Great Wall, which you can see in the picture above. This part of the wall is actually a reconstruction of the original and was built at ⅔ scale.
For travelers, China offers a unique opportunity to get off the beaten path. Even near Beijing, my friend and I were often the center of attention among local Chinese tourists who had rarely seen foreigners in their hometowns.

This website, Arimo Travels, is a travel site. So, what connects randomness and travel? In my case, the link is picking random destinations. In the past, I’ve picked destinations by throwing darts at a map of Europe, and I even went as far as visiting a completely random place anywhere in the world.
First, I made a few random destination generators for others to enjoy. Now, those few generators have turned into over 100 randomizers covering all sorts of topics. For example, I’ve made generators for random colors and road trips in India. You can find all the randomizers on the Random Generators page.
