Trips from Finland to Norway
Finland and Norway share a short stretch border in the north. Because of this, I’ve had several opportunities to visit the northern parts of Norway.
Once my family borrowed our neighbors’ camper van and drove to Alta. And when I was seventeen, my friends and I took a car to Tromsø and flew to Svalbard for a night. I also made one trip to northern Norway where my friend and I slept in our car, and once I hitchhiked 1,000 kilometers from Central Finland to Utsjoki and the border of Norway.
(The photo at the top is from the hitchhiking journey and features the border river Tana.)
In 2022, I once again planned to visit Norway. This time, my plan was to take a ship from Iceland to Faroe Islands, fly to Bergen and then take the train through Oslo all the way to Stockholm.
However, I only made it to France before catching COVID. Even though I had booked all my journeys and accommodations, I had to abort the journey halfway through.

This randomizer for Norwegian cities is one of many created after I traveled the world using random methods—throwing darts at maps and letting online polls choose my path. You can find over 100 random generators on the Random Generators page. I have also made similar city generators for Norway’s neighboring countries: Finland, Russia, and Sweden.
