My Visit to the Philippines
I have been to the Philippines once, in 2017, during the first half of what would become a 777-day trip around the world. I first stayed in Quezon City, part of Manila’s metropolitan area. I remember visiting SM North EDSA—then the largest shopping mall in the Philippines—and cooking tuna pasta for dinner. I recall the tuna pasta so well because it was the first time I had cooked it during my journey.
Afterwards, I traveled to Palawan in the southwest part of the country. I would have liked to continue to Borneo without flying, but no such voyages were available, so I returned to Manila by ferry and flew to Brunei Darussalam instead.
